Event decoration: summer 2019 trends
Published on 13 June 2019
As summer approaches, event decoration must be able to adapt to indoor spaces as well as gardens and other outdoor spaces. Touches of colour and details are now as important as the theme of the whole scenography! Here is an overview of the trends that will set the pace of your summer events:
The season’s key colours
It is hard to talk about the trending colours of the spring-summer season, and of 2019 more broadly, without mentioning Pantone’s Living Coral. For 2019, the brand unveiled a luminous shade that brings a touch of energy and warmth to spaces. For event decoration, Living Coral goes with a variety of summer themes: tropical, floral…
Among the other colours you will see everywhere this summer: fir green and ochre! The first, halfway between foliage green and dark grey, will bring a chic touch to your decoration; it can be used in small touches or on the main pieces of your decor. The warm tones of ochre are also in the spotlight in decoration this year, even more so as summer arrives.

Focusing on details for unforgettable decoration
Neon signs have become a must in event decoration. As well as looking good, they can above all serve as branding supports: brand name, slogan and so on. Neon signs are fashionable and playful, and will blend easily into your decoration.
Do you know what cane webbing and velvet have in common? These two retro trends, sometimes considered kitsch in recent years, are back! Cane webbing comes in endless variations and has the advantage of suiting different event themes: vintage, exotic and so on.
After enjoying great success in 2018, velvet continues to dress interior furniture in 2019. This material, available in a very wide range of colours, has the advantage of matching many other materials such as wood or metal.

Which scenography should you choose for your event decoration?
Scenography gives visitors total immersion in a particular world, that of a brand for example, and lets them live a unique experience.
Plants are an essential trend in decoration, and when the theme is applied to an entire scenography, it takes on a whole other dimension. Plant design is no longer limited to flowers; every element of nature is used to give a tropical or country spirit to your event. It is impossible to talk about plant-based scenography without mentioning the St-Germain brand’s sets, an obvious reference when you know that each of their liqueur bottles contains 1,000 elderflowers. Maze, walls, swing… All these elements were covered in greenery at the brand’s event at the Cercle d’Aumale.
For an immersive scenography that awakens all 5 senses, the caterer Saveurs d’étoiles has dreamt up the Kocon d’Immersion SenSorielle, a concept combining entertainment and decoration. In this Kokon, the senses are stimulated at the same time, creating a unique emotion and memory for guests.

Immersive scenography is today one of the pillars of experiential and event marketing.
