Towards disruptive meetings
Published on 20 November 2017
We all know that, for many companies, the key to the future lies in inspiration and innovation to invent what comes next. How can we foster that creativity? It is the question we are all asking ourselves.
How can we foster disruption?
Microsoft has just opened a new collaborative workspace for its American employees in the USA: wooden cabins built in the trees and connected to one another. Open to all employees, these “tree houses” are part of a new project to create outdoor workspaces on Microsoft’s giant campus – some 500 hectares – in Redmond, Washington State.
The first striking thing on entering these spaces is the absolute calm you find yourself in. It is fascinating. People absorb the environment and it changes how they perceive their work.
“Being more creative and flexible with our workspace allows us to be more creative and productive in our work and the products we create” can be read on the Microsoft website. A creative, flexible workspace strengthens the creativity and productivity of our work.
The space must become a meeting place where we learn to work with new people, immersed in a culture of innovation
The right space is the one that creates motivation, engagement, innovation, disruption…
Rethinking seminar and training spaces
It is hard to change the everyday workplace, but it is easy to change the venue where we meet or train. Discovering new places will open us up to discovery.
A venue can also be conceived around a spirit, an idea or a movement that we want to create.
In every situation, the challenge is ultimately to find a venue, an atmosphere, a setting that will foster the emergence of new ideas. We need to think about venues in terms of the objectives of the training sessions, seminars or meetings we want to organise.
Rethinking the approach to training spaces and venues according to the innovation or creativity we want to develop necessarily means moving towards unconventional venues to encourage the disruption that has become our watchword.
Space becomes a tool contributing to development and well-being
At a time when remote working is growing, we are rediscovering the importance of coming together at special moments that must be carefully crafted. Space therefore becomes essential again: a space that must be inspiring, meaningful, and reinvented with every new challenge.
