A cultural venue open for private hire
Le Bateau Phare is the former Batofar, a former Irish lightship (Osprey, 1955) that became the Batofar in 1999 at the Port de la Gare (Paris 13th), was bought in 2018 and then renovated. It can also be found under its former address, 11 quai François Mauriac.
Step aboard this legendary venue, wander across its 3 decks, which invite you to explore, and enjoy an unrivalled view of the Seine in a space of 600 m²:
For a seminar day or an evening event: private hire of the boat in full or deck by deck, for up to 300 people.
For all-inclusive or tailor-made events, make the most of our team of artists, our stage installations and our barmaids. Our teams will help you design your reception by suggesting partner caterers, artists and shows.
Equipment on board: customisable digital signage screens in every space to display your logo, visuals or videos (4 in the Carré, 2 on the Deck), video projector available on request, Wi-Fi and redundant internet connection throughout the boat, air-conditioned Carré and Cale.
Each space has its own atmosphere, drawing on the codes of the marine world and reusing strong features of the boat, such as the metal works by Jean Philippe Buisson.
- The upper deck, renamed the DECK, is a laid-back indoor-outdoor space with a view of the Seine and a “beach” spirit. In winter it turns into a chalet for puffer-jacket evenings with mulled wine & raclette.
- The middle deck, now called the CARRÉ, evokes the lagoon with its gradients of blue and offers an atmosphere that is both cosy & bright: high tables or sofas, the choice is yours!
- We dive towards the ocean floor in the CALE, the lower deck, passing the mural by Nilko, a street artist well known in the 13th arrondissement. This is where, of course, we party and discover artists’ performances, but also where you can hold your conference on a big screen.

Picture yourself with a drink in hand, in front of the sunset, on the swing installed at the bow of the boat. The lighthouse overlooks an egg-shaped bar, watching over the vast upper deck where marine timber sits alongside riveted steel, in a decor of beach and tropical jungle. Large sand-coloured daybed banquettes, low and high tables, industrial design, the shade of a sail or an arbour…
This rooftop, with an unrivalled view of the Seine, is transformed in winter: dressed in fluffy blankets, it becomes an alpine setting for fondues and mulled wine.

The Carré

The Carré did not exist! It was shaped by the architects, who pushed back the walls and opened two skylights, a bay window, windows and portholes onto the Seine. The wallpapers, the gradients of blue paint by the artist Laurence Natier, the tub chairs and high chairs, the tables recycling the black-locust parquet, the alcoves along the gangways, the long polished-concrete bar… With its lounge atmosphere, the Carré is the big surprise of the new Bateau Phare.

The Cale & the DJ Booth

On the staircase down to the Cale, you are guided by a mural by the street artist Nilko, presented by the Itinerrance gallery (13th arrondissement), depicting live performance as much as the concerts and clubbing of which this is the lair.
Also open from stern to bow, and larger than before, this space is the cultural heart of Le Bateau Phare. The stage, the control desk, the DJ booth and the walls, whose curve follows that of the hull, pick up the marine aesthetic. The colour code is dark blue, except for one white wall intended for immersive projections.
You can just as easily give a presentation on a big screen as party until the small hours.

The Quayside Terrace

On the banks of the Seine, the Quayside Terrace hosts group offers for 20 people or more.
From November to April, this 350 m² quayside space can be hired exclusively for a few days a month, with the agreement of Haropa, the port authority.

The Middle & Lower Decks
The Carré (middle deck) is a lounge bar available for private hire, with a view of the Seine.
The Cale (lower deck), with its stage, control desk and DJ booth, can also be hired privately.
