Le Pavillon de la Muette

A little, or rather a lot of, history…

Download the brochure

In the heart of the Saint-Germain-en-Laye Forest (78), this royal hunting lodge was built by the famous architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel for King Louis XV.

After him, Louis XVI also came here to hunt, Napoleon I installed his apartments here and Napoleon III made it a favoured venue for diplomatic meetings, notably inviting Queen Victoria in 1855.

During the 20th century, the Pavilion fell into oblivion….

Since 2019, this sleeping beauty has been coming back to life thanks to two patrons passionate about architecture and history, Benoît d’Halluin and Emmanuel Basse.

After an ambitious five-year restoration campaign, in close partnership with the Ministry of Culture, this listed historic monument has been saved from ruin and has regained its splendour.

Charmed by the setting and the quality of the renovation, Franck Ferrand, the well-known history broadcaster, agreed to be its patron.

La Muette opens its doors in May 2024 and will be mainly dedicated to private hire for events.

Its exceptional location in the heart of the Saint-Germain forest and at the gates of Paris (less than 30 minutes from Porte Maillot) is ideal for all kinds of private or professional receptions: weddings, seminars, product launches, client evenings, film shoots, etc.

Become master of the house by privatising:

  • the Royal Pavilion with its 3 reception salons, opening onto a beautiful flowering garden
  • a large marquee with a capacity of 350 people during the summer season
  • and, if needed, its eight historic bedrooms.

You enter the Pavilion through the “Débotté du Roi”. This is where the King took off his boots on returning from the hunt, and where we suggest you welcome your guests. In winter, you will warm up around a beautiful log fire.

The Octagonal Salon, open to nature with its large windows & offering a ceiling height of 7.8 m, is the ideal place to hold your dinner or meeting.

The Officers’ Salon, with its panelled walls, like the impressive Réchauffoir in the vaulted cellars, offers many possibilities: let your imagination run free!

The Marquee

This marquee, both chic & natural, blends perfectly into the Pavilion’s grounds and will create a “wow” effect for your guests.

The sides of the marquee are “crystal walls”, leaving an open view of the garden and the forest, and can be removed entirely.

With an area of 300 m², the layout possibilities are endless.

Please note that a car park of 70 spaces, 10 of them electric, is available
